Absences
Reporting your child's absence
Student safety is a priority. If your child is sick, going to be late or absent for any reason it is important that the school office is notified by 9am. You can either:
* Send a text to 027 576 8206
* Phone the school office on 576 8205 and dial 713 to leave a message on our absence line
* Click on the absentee button on the Wakaaranga School App (which you can download to your phone) and choose your option
* Go to the school website (www.wakaaranga.school.nz). Under the parents tab on the home page click on the Absentee Form and fill in the relevant information
Please remember to state your child’s name, class and the reason for their absence.
With over 700 students at our school and an average of 5% of students absent on any day, contacting parents to check on children’s absences can take quite some time.
