Waste Audit

On Tuesday, Room 10 with Mrs Hanlon-Judd, Ms Von and Ms Everitt conducted a waste audit of our school bins from one day’s collection. We found our school is making some really good decisions with their lunchtime rubbish. Ka pai tamariki!

Everyone is putting their food scraps in the green bin which helps feed our compost bins, worm bins and heihei. For a school over 700 children, Room 10 thought there wasn’t much waste at all.

We do need to work on reducing our soft plastics like glad wrap, chip packets and muesli bar wrappers. What could you do to reduce our waste and increase our sustainability?
