Level 4 Information
18 August 2021
Kia ora Waka whānau,
Last night’s announcement by the Government that we were moving to Level 4 was sudden and no doubt took many people by surprise. A reminder that Alert level 4 means that we need to stay at home in our bubbles unless accessing essential services or exercising locally.
Throughout the lockdown period we will be communicating with you regularly and your child’s teacher will be in daily contact. Our team is here for you and your family and will answer any questions that you may have. Please keep in regular contact with your child’s teacher.
Please read through the key reminders detailed below:
Home Learning
Once again our team is well prepared and have re-activated our home learning programme.
Please be mindful that there is no expectation for parents to replicate the school environment. We are all aware of the magnitude of this challenging time that we are facing and do not want to put added stress on parents and families. Be consistent, creative and value this opportunity to spend time together as a family.

New students and families
If you are new to Wakaaranga and have not been involved in our Home Learning previously, please ensure that you contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions. They will be glad to support you.
School Device Loans
Currently we are unable to access the school site and distribute devices/laptops to students who require them. When we are given the approval to do so we will action this.
If your child does not have access to a device at home in order to complete their home learning please complete the form linked here Digital Device Request Form
Please note that as we only have a limited supply of devices available this will be on a priority basis.
Planned Events
With the move to Alert Level 4 we are obviously unable to carry out all of the activities and events planned for the next 7 days. When we gain more clarity around the length of the lockdown we will advise you of any rescheduled dates.
The School Grounds are Closed
Please note that under Level 4 the entire school grounds are closed - please do not enter the school site.
Keep safe
