Ohuirangi Planting Afternoon

Last Tuesday, a group of year 5 students joined other local schools in a plant restoration day to help restore and replenish the wetlands. In five years or so we look forward to being able to visit the site and know that Wakaaranga has played a part in helping our local environment.

My favourite things about the planting day were having the time to enjoy thinking about how we were helping climate change. The fact that we can see the trees when we are older, and we have clean air to breath in. It was fun to see so many people care about the environment and want to help plant and pick up rubbish.
