Year 2 and 3 Stardome Trip
Did you know that Neptune rains diamonds? Or that one million Earths can fit inside the sun? Or that the sun's actual name is Sol, which makes up the word The Solar System. These are some of the interesting facts that the Year 1 - 3 children learnt on their visit to Stardome. Our inquiry focus this term has included a lot of learning about space with some of the key learning pathways being to learn about planet Earth and other planets in the solar system, stars, Matariki and how the moon changes its shape. Our visit to the Stardome included an interesting and educational classroom session, a fun interactive scavenger hunt and the unforgettable Planetarium. In the Planetarium the children were taken on a 3D adventure travelling through the Galaxy on a hunt to find the best planet in our Solar System. The winner was of course our very special and precious planet Earth.
